The Different Types Of Pool Pump

Everybody loves to have a pool in their home but only owners know that maintaining a pool is difficult and this is where having a pool pump helps. The pump system usually runs on an electric motor, which remains concealed in a pump room or shed so that all that you see is a well designed and clean pool.

It is critical that pool is kept hygienic as it could otherwise result in swimmers getting bacterial infections or other water-borne diseases. In order to keep the pool water safe for swimming, in addition to chemicals the owner has to have a complete pool system installed and a pool pump is at the heart of this system. The pump is responsible for redistributing the water through the drains, strainers and filters until it is safe for use once more.

There are several types of pool pumps that are available. An owner can choose between a pool pump that is fixed above the ground or inside the ground. Since a pump that is located above the ground will have gravitational forces working against it, drawing water into the pump will require more power. An in ground pump on the other hand requires a lot of work for installation.

Pool pumps also differ in terms of speed. A single speed pool pump works only at one particular speed while a variable speed pump can work at more than one speed. The advantage of having two speeds is that it helps in cleaning the pool faster while it is in use and it can be switched to the slower speed when not in use, to save on operating costs. A variable speed pump is also useful for heated pools as a slower speed is required for running the water through the heater while a higher speed is necessary for filtration.

Another factor in deciding which pool pump to get is the size. If you have a small pool, then getting a big pump may be fun for a while as the added power will help create a wave effect. However, in the long run, your operating expenses could go up unnecessarily. Similarly, having a small pump for a big pool may result in your pool not being cleaned well enough.

For getting advice on what type of pump would work best for your pool, it is best to visit or consult a pool supplies company. They specialize in the field of pool maintenance and will be able to give you guidance of the most cost and energy-efficient pool pump that is within your budget.

The owner should get a pool cleaner and a pool pump to have a safe and clean swimming pool. Visit my website for more information about swimming pool supplies.

Inground Pool Cover – Cleanliness Is Not Its Only Function

We all know that keeping our pools clean is one of the main reasons for buying either an above ground or inground pool cover style. This is logical because who would want to keep cleaning pools all the time constantly filtering out debris or manually screening it for all the rubbish that has accumulated within and about the swimming pool proper?

But do not you know that there are also other purposes for installing your above or inground pool cover? One of the most important reasons why a pool needs to be covered is that many children, especially young ones, meet up with accidents because of a pool that is left uncovered.

It is a parent’s responsibility to watch out for the kids so that they will be kept safe and out of accidents right. But we can never deny the fact that there are lapses, and nothing is just too perfect. Just a few seconds of distraction is all it takes for you tyke to slip and hit their head on a fall or even drown. That is why accidents are called accidents because it is not intended to happen but they most frequently do.

Kids are playful and do not really know what danger is. That is why, if you have a pool, make sure it is covered all the time when not in use. An uncovered pool that is not fenced in is an accident waiting to happen.

Just imagine kids running around while you are busy doing household chores. Not all kids behave, and most really play and horse around a lot. If by chance a minute lapsed and you were able to take your eyes off of them, in a heartbeat they will run and lose control.

Even well-behaved children can slip and fall into the open swimming pool.

With events happening so fast, you can not simply run after them and stop them. To keep accidents like broken bones when the pool is not filled with water, or drowning if the pool has water, we need to take care of our kids by putting up a pool cover on the pool.

Pool covers do not really cost a lot. You can choose a simple pool cover that is enough to cover the entire tank and leave no space for falling or drowning. Danger is everywhere, but you ca always do something to lessen the risks of getting into one by installing an above-ground or inground pool cover forthwith.

Licensed companies take up contracts on weekly, monthly or annual basis. They check up the pool and also advice if there is any requirement for upgrades and accessories for the pool. Most people in Austin check out the pool repair companies to ensure that they can have a good splash whenever they want without any risks.

A swimming pool has so many areas that require the maintenance and checking from pros. A company sends contracts who are familiar with all kinds of pools and are able to give advisories as required. They are able to give the best repair solutions too. A good repair company can ensure that they can send professionals to work on any make or models of swimming pool. They are required when there are leakages, seeps and when water is not getting warm enough. Sometimes working with swimming pool repair kits is not sufficient. It is not good enough to handle bigger problems like filters, hand pumps, chlorinators, control systems, automatic cleaners and floor cleaners. It is best to get a good company with a good track record and satisfied clients to do repairs. Austin pool repair companies are spread in many localities and provide comprehensive services of maintenance. There are pool repair online guides also that help pool owners to learn what to do in situations where the pools stop functioning to their optimum capacity. Some of the other areas that are looked after by companies which also give online guides are repairing pool tiles, cleaning them, above ground or inground pump leaks, pool installations, maintenance contractors and risks if adults and kids use the same pool.

Ideally if the pool owner is planning an evening barbeque party besides the pool, it is a good idea to let the contract have a routine check. It minimizes risks of getting embarrassed or any untoward incidents when all guests have to do it enjoy and leave the party with good memories.

Different Types of Infrared Saunas

Homeowners are now becoming smarter when it comes to maximizing all the areas around the house and utilizing each one to the full extent. A small spot in the backyard could remain to be empty or for those with a creative mind, this could be a place where a small piece of equipment can be placed that could bring relaxation and comfort right at home. This is the reason why saunas are normally found in houses with a limited amount of space, yet each corner is being used to add beauty and value to the whole house.

For those who are not familiar with this, it is a small heated room with high temperatures designed to induce sweating while at the same time allowing the person to relax. Its been known primarily because of its recreational purpose such as providing fun and a great form to relieve stress but at the same time more users are also claiming about its therapeutic benefits. There are different types that are available in today’s market depending on the type of material and its function. The traditional models that originated from Finland normally include a stove, pile of rocks and a few benches. Water is being thrown at the rocks and with a high temperature that can be around 175-195 degrees Fahrenheit. It causes water to evaporate and form a steam. There are some models that require lower temperature which can be from 110 to 115 degrees Fahrenheit. Tracing back to history, the Caldarium is also a type of sauna which is considered as the hottest among the Roman Baths. It makes use of an under floor heating system in order to generate heat.

In today’s modern world, infrared saunas are considered to be the latest model that make use of infrared technology. This is fast becoming a popular choice among homeowners because of its advantages and health benefits.

Swimming Pool Heaters Are Great For Keeping Water Warm

When you have a swimming pool, you know how hard sometimes it can be to keep water at a consistent water temperature. This is where swimming pool heat pumps can save the day. You may be asking yourself why there are so many different types of heaters for a pool. That is because there are different types of fuel that you use when it comes to these types of heaters. You have solar, electric and gas pool heaters and each one is different from the rest.

Swimming pool heat pumps are mainly electric and these types of heat pumps can be used for pools that owners and athletes would own in order to benefit from water therapy and a consistent temperature of the pool in question. They are also more advantageous than gas heaters due to cost and are more efficient than a gas heater. Solar is the cheapest of the three and uses the heat of the sun to warm the waters of the pool. However these are limited due to the inability to increase water temperature by a good degree. Another problem with solar heat is the fact that if it is inclement weather, the water may not get warm.

When speaking about different types of pool heaters, gas and propane are also on the list. While these are not swimming pool heat pumps per se as they are run by gas, they deserve a mention here as well. Gas is the most expensive of the three types of pool heaters both in cost and installation. A gas heater would be a better idea for a hot tub or spa than a swimming pool. These are for use occasionally instead of every day. Each of these heaters has their plus and negative to be sure.

The main practicality of swimming pool heat pumps will depend greatly on several factors. Their location, size and temperature are what will be determining factors as well as the time to heat and the temperature of the water are also a great factor. Depending on what the pool owner wants will be the choice for the correct pool heater for the situation at hand. Different heaters will work differently when it comes to heating water to the right temperature and how long it will stay heated. Cost is also a big factor for these heaters.

So if you want to get your swimming pool water warm, then swimming pool heat pumps may be on your list. Depending on need and geographic location, the type of heater used will be dictated by those factors. They all have their advantages and disadvantages when it comes to keeping a pool at a certain temperature for a certain amount of time. Cost is a factor as well as one is more expensive than the other two. Each situation will be different so a pool owner will have to choose based on what his or her needs are. A thought included in that decision will be the source of the power for the heater in question.

To learn more, visit the swimming pool heat pumps website where you will find useful recommendations for these and other pool heating options, including swimming pool solar heaters.

Why You Need the ‘Right’ Above Ground Pool Cover

Today there are practically no homes left that go without an individual swimming pool of their own. Some are built out in the lawns while others might be in the backyard, and some even built indoors. An open pool of gallons of water could be a threat at times as well. There is always a need to keep your swimming pools covered quite well with the ‘right’ kind of above ground pool cover.

It is after all quite a big hole:

The first thing that comes into our minds as parents would be the safety of our children. It could be even some kids visiting our house. In either case, leaving a pool open with young kids playing around is a huge risk you could be taking. The pool is a huge drop into the ground and small kids could easily suck up water and succumb to it in no time if they are left unnoticed. This is again true for pets as well. Hence above ground pool cover seems to be the most obvious need at any time.

Keep that debris away from your pool:

The second reason to have your pool covered up would be to keep it clean and fresh. There is a lot of debris like mud, leaves and dirt that keeps falling into your swimming pools when you keep them uncovered. Even if you are not using the pool, you will need to clean it up using pool pumps to keep it clean. This means losing more on energy bills! Again when you are traveling, leaving the pool uncovered seems to be a bad idea. A cover could help you to save on your energy when you come back and need to get a clean pool back for yourselves.

Getting the right kind of pool cover:

You need to buy a winter time pool cover apart from the usual above ground pool cover. This is because such winter time covers are thicker and made up from thick vinyl or solid plastic material. They can be fitted tightly over your pool during winters when the pools would be least in use. Not only will this keep your pool cleaner but also keep the water warm as well. This is essential for otherwise a frozen pool could damage the swimming pools internal structure as well. Again, you could choose to buy a solar pool cover to use the sun’s light to warm up the water and save money on energy bills.

It is very important that you get a good above ground pool covers for your swimming pool as they come with multifold benefits for you. You could even choose the solar pool cover to help you save money month after month, every year!

How to Choose Solar Cover Reels

Solar pool covers save energy and water when you use them. They have to be removed before you use your pool. It can be difficult for one person to remove the cover or put it back in place. That’s why you need a solar cover reel. The reels make it easy to remove your cover and put it in place.

There are reels available for in ground pools and above ground pools with full decks. Most reels are portable so they can be moved for winter storage. The cover reels keep your cover or blanket wrapped tightly keeping it clean and out of the way. They also extend the life of your solar cover which may be damaged by pulling or folding.

There are a number of options available for solar reels. You may choose an automatic reel. The automatic reel operates on water power. You simply hook up a garden hose to the reel and flip the lever.

It takes the automatic reel about one minute to roll up your solar pool cover and the water it uses goes back into your pool. This takes all the hassle out of removing your cover and makes it simple to put the cover back in place when you are done.

Other reels operate with a hand crank. These are easy to use and work on any pool which has a full deck. Rolling your solar pool cover onto the reel is a snap and it can be done by any adult. No help is needed.

When you put your cover away for the winter, you may also purchase a tarp which rolls around the reel and fastens to protect your solar cover from tears and damage while it is being stored.

Check out his latest website www.InGroundPoolCovers.net which reviews and lists Information on all types of Equipment like the popular Solar Cover Reels

Throw a Kiddie Pool Party

Summertime is vacation time for kids. The best way to cool off during this hot season is to spend it on a swimming pool. If you have a backyard pool, why not let your children invite their friends over for a pool party? Your kids will definitely be delighted with this idea and they will gladly call their friends to come over.

To make your children’s pool party a blast, provide kids with pool supplies and equipment that they will enjoy. You can give them pool toys and squirts which they will happily play on. Perhaps, you can install a basketball hoop or volleyball net so they can form teams and have a friendly water competition. Providing them with an array of pool toys can create fun and excitement instead of just having them swim back and forth.

Children can get hungry with all the water activities. So, make sure that you provide enough food, snacks and cool refreshments for them. Play some cool music in the background to create a festive atmosphere. You can also provide the children with floating loungers so they can relax in between swims and after eating.

There may be some friends of your children who don’t have that much confidence swimming in the water. These children can be provided with pool supplies to help them out. Arm bands and float jackets can be handed to them so they don’t get left out in the poolside area.

Even if kids are good swimmers, don’t leave them unattended. An adult should always be present to monitor their activities. Having a poolside chair and umbrella will make it easy for you to watch the kids.

Pool Fencing Design Criteria

When you’re considering different pool fencing designs, it helps to ask yourself why you want to enclose the pool to begin with. Some homeowners are primarily concerned with privacy, others with decorations, while still others just need a fence that does its basic function – to keep people and animals out.

The materials you choose will have the biggest impact on the impression the fence makes. Metal, wood and vinyl are the most frequently used. Wood fences are usually fashioned from cedar or pine. Pine is often pressure-treated, but cedar fences have greater longevity due to their denser grain, which protects against insects and the vagaries of weather.

For less maintenance and even longer life, metal and vinyl are superior. Even if privacy is not a concern, you’ll need to keep the rods close together, no more then four inches, to prevent children and pets from slipping through. Any horizontal framing components should be placed on the inside to discourage children from scaling the fence. To further keep kids from climbing over or crawling under, fences of all types should be at least 48 inches high, and the bottoms of any planks should be no more than four inches from the ground.

If your local regulations allow it, a chain link fence is sufficient for purely functional fencing, but it may not be ideal from a safety perspective – hence the regulatory concerns. Chain links are convenient footholds for children, but their convenience decreases with size. Links that are a maximum of 1.25 inches will comply with most safety codes, and make it hard for children to insert their feet.

A stockade fence is great for privacy fencing, since it has no gaps between slats. Before committing to installing this design, you should think twice about whether or not you’ll enjoy it long-term, since having no view from the inside out or vice versa can create an isolating ambiance.

The first choice for decorative fencing is usually an ornamental wrought iron fence, which is also the most expensive kind of pool fencing you can invest it. You can achieve the same look for less money with a ornamental fence made from hot-dipped galvanized steel, which still offers more durability than aluminum fencing.
